Many users of windows just end up using Microft's Outlook or Outlook Express. Outlook is the more powerful of the two and, as well as supporting emails, also support creating to do lists , calendars etc. However a possible downside of these programs is that are both pretty complex and are also possibly the email programs most targeted by creators of viruses. So if you use these it is important to ensure you have anti-virus programs on your PC and to ensure that they are kept up to date and are used.
There are many alternatives to Outlook and Outlook Express. These include Mozilla's Thunderbird (which has built in support for helping handle junk mail) and Opera. Opera is both an email program and a web browser (like Internet Explorer). Both of these have support for handling multiple email accounts which are possibly easier to use than Outlook or Outlook Express. Mozilla also provide a companion web browser, Firefox.
