Collecting Email

In general we advise that you collect your email via an email client, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird or some other email client (Click here for details). Please ensure that your system is protected from viruses. If you need the information about your user name (mailbox name) and password please contact us.

Webmail

You may also collect email over the web. To access your email via the web use http://webmail.rdahosting.co.uk

You user name is your mailbox name in the form name@account

Your password is your mailbox password

You can use the webmail interface to change your password (via the Options button and the login tab). If you do change your password then please make a note of it somewhere safe. If you also collect your email using a program like Outloook you will need to know how to update it to use the new password!

You can send email, reply to email via Webmail. If you wish you can setup an email signature and other options using the Options button and the Settings tab.

Alternatively you can use other webmail collectors, like mail2web.com. For information on using mail2web.com click here.

Email servers

Our POP3 server is: mail.rdahosting.co.uk

Whilst it is normal to use the SMTP server provided by your ISP, you may also use our SMTP Server: smtp.rdahosting.co.uk

Our SMTP server requires authentication using the mailbox name (e.g. fred@domain) and password (just as you may have entered in your email client to pick up your email), otherwise you may find many emails will be returned to you as undelivered. Due to port blocking by some ISPs (from experience we have suffered with BT, Orange/Freeserve and AOL but there may be others) you may need to change the from port 25 to port 2500 if you use our smtp server.

DNS Servers

It is normally best to setup you PCs to acquire your DNS Server IP address(es) automatically. Many routers support this. Failing that, below are some of the DNS Servers we have used, but they cannot be guaranteed.

81.21.78.181
80.225.252.58
80.225.252.50
83.245.4.38
83.245.4.57
158.152.1.58
158.152.1.43
194.153.1.10
